Engineers see humanity this way. Despite their proverbial boundless self-confidence, they award themselves the bronze medal because of their ancestral inferiority complex with respect to mathematicians — the holders of the purest truth available to humankind — and physicists, to whom they envy the superior knowledge of the mathematical and, of course, the physical sciences.
